Nashville Mobile Apps
The web is trending mobile! This paradigm shift affects the planning, design and development of your next website or mobile application. At Horton Group, we design our client projects with a "mobile first" approach whenever possible. We begin the mockup and wireframe stage first targeting mobile devices, then progressively enhancing the design and functionality for larger screens as the design matures.
The numbers alone should be enough to convince you – if you are not mobile you are missing out on connecting with a huge audience. Check out what our friends below are saying about the burgeoning power of the mobile market.
“46% of consumers are unlikely to return to a mobile site if it didn’t work properly during their last visit.” - Gomez
“Two-thirds of smartphone users say a mobile-friendly site makes them more likely to buy a company’s product or service.” - Forbes
“Mobile internet usage is projected to overtake desktop internet usage by 2014.” -Microsoft
Mobile first is a design approach that acknowledges the growth and adoption of mobile technology for reading and interacting with "web" content. If your design works on a mobile device, it will work on a deskptop or larger viewport. The day when mobile devices are the dominant platform for consuming media, reading content and ordering products is not far off, you need to be ready.
After we have achieved a solid "mobile first" design, we begin work on progressively enhancing the concept for larger screens. Headers can be more full-featured, images become larger and special effects are more pronounced. In a nutshell, we enhance the interface as more space becomes available.
