Content Writer & Marketing Coordinator

The Horton Group Inbound Marketing Team is growing quickly and redefining what it means to produce and distribute digital content for our marketing partners. We’re looking for a Content Writer and Digital Marketing Coordinator who is able and excited to write, write, and write some more.

This person is an incredibly talented writer who loves spending time crafting concise and engaging content. This person should be able to write quickly and authoritatively on marketing topics they previously knew nothing about while applying search optimization best practices.

This role will be responsible for content development and migration for new and existing client websites, blog posts, ebooks, metadata and more. The right person will be a marketing enthusiast or aspire to become one -- obsessed with varying industry trends, evolutions, and publications. This person will also optimize and rewrite existing content. They should become familiar with clients in varying industries and target audiences, their personas, and best practices.

The right person cares deeply about researching, writing, and optimizing quality content. They should be driven by the writing process and always looking for ways to better their craft. They’ll thrive in an environment of constant change. And they’ll contribute positively to team culture through being a supportive and empathetic colleague.

 

Bookkeeper & Administrative Assistant

Responsibilities 
  • Write high-quality content on a variety of topics within marketing. • Execute on our optimization strategy by rewriting, reformatting, and updating previously published posts.
  • Use data to assess the results of their work, and proactively suggest pivots if necessary.
  • Stay abreast of new and evolving content, writing, and marketing trends to share with their marketing colleagues and inform their work.
  • Foster harmonious working relationships both on and off the blog team and seek opportunities to collaborate with other departments.
  • Execute on the strategy set forth by the Inbound Marketing Team and write occasionally thankless topics like, “How to Update Your Drupal Site.”

  • A willingness and ability to “go where the needs are” -- whether that’s writing, optimization, email scheduling, or a mixture of all three. This person should be obsessed with driving results and flexible in how they get there.
  • Exceptional writing skills. They should have the ability to quickly get up to speed on and produce knowledgeable content on unfamiliar subject matter.
  • A proven track record of writing profusely and a willingness to push through challenging topics.
  • Familiarity executing on a pillar/cluster content strategy.
  • Insanely high attention to detail. Errors, typos, and inconsistencies make your skin crawl.
  • Plays nice with others -- knows how to and understands the importance of working well with multiple stakeholders to achieve mutual goal.
