Ken Thomas theINFO: Our Drupal, Database, Programming Expert. theSKILLS: Expertise in almost every Database and Content Management System in existence. BIO:Ken began his tour in information & technology somewhere in dorm room discussions that led to Tripod.com, and in short time programmed the first Mac chat client. He later served as a sysadmin at UC Berkeley while consulting at BBN Planet, the company that created the internet, in Cambridge Park; founded QuantumFind, Inc., a Google competitor, with MIT's Abhay Bhushan, the creator of the ftp and mail protocols; and has created companies focusing in wireless broadband delivery and consumer electronics arbitrage while dabbling in international politics and living with his Angora cat, "Bo." Ken's virtual wall is plastered with an A.A. from Deep Springs College, the US's most selective institution, a B.A. from Williams College, and a M.A. and C.Phil in Rhetoric/Communications from U.C. Berkeley, as well as a number of even-more-useless certificates from the Sorbonne, the Goethe Institute, Charles University and the like. Unlike Sergei and Bo, he is not currently a billionaire, a fact that he reminds them of very, very occasionally. But what the heck: batting .333 isn't bad, and there must be a $1BN or so opportunity out there, somewhere, in the next decade. theINTERESTS: Drupal, IRC, SOCKS and Sandwiches. TV Show: The Boondocks |
